OUR HISTORY
OUR COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION
TE ARA KĀKĀRIKI GREENWAY
GREENDOT INITIATIVE
Greendots are managed native plantings supported by Te Ara Kākāriki in collaboration with landowners and other organisations on both public and private land. The initiative offers restoration planning, plant supply, expert advice, volunteer planters, and monitoring services to landowners in the Selwyn District.
The focus is on selecting the appropriate tree species for each unique site and educating the community while enhancing biodiversity and developing steppingstones in the Te Ara Kākāriki Greenway. The Trust's main objective is to increase the less than 1% of indigenous vegetation that remains on the Canterbury Plains, making it a key driver of the project.
The greendots program contributes to environmental conservation by encouraging sustainable land management practices and promoting a sense of community involvement.
Blackwell Loadmaster are continuous supporters of this initiative sponsoring a Greendot in Canterbury.
